ATELIER PIVERRE - GLASSBLOWER
Experimental workshop Piverre in La Plaine-sur-Mer, animating workshops and demonstrations of antique glassblowing
François Arnaud has been a glass-blower with a cane for twenty-five years. He is a glass blower "à l'antique", he works alone and on his thighs like the Mesopotamian craftsmen. He has travelled to many countries, such as Italy, Canada, South Africa, Argentina, the Czech Republic, India and Syria, drawing on the mysteries of this magical material that is glass to perfect his know-how and technique. He created his experimental workshop in La Plaine-sur-Mer not far from Pornic in 2015 and joined the small village of artisans and craftsmen that is Sallertaine in June. He runs workshops and demonstrations there. You will learn all about glass and how it is worked. The works of François are unique and magnificent, it is not for nothing that this "glass artist-experimentalist", as he calls himself, can also boast the title of "meilleur ouvrier de France" (MOF). We love it!
