Hotel in Hendaye with personalised rooms with splendid views of the bay and the Jaizkibel.

Your hosts, long distance travelers, put down their luggage and took over this hotel a few years ago. The house built in 1900 by the architect Mr. Martinet who created Hendaye Plage is superb. An ascent by an old staircase leads you to the rooms, each of which has its own personality. One of them is under the roof, with exposed beams. Some of them have a splendid view on the bay and the Jaizkibel. An ideal situation, between ocean and mountain, 350 m from the beach, close to the Spanish border and at the departure of a multitude of excursions and hikes.

En tres palabras: cutre, sucio y deprimente. Pero la historia es más larga: lo primero que tuve que hacer fue buscar una supuesta cucaracha debajo de la lavadora que vio mi mujer, sin resultado. Eso sí, no esperes que detrás de los muebles (cualquier mueble o electrodoméstico) hayan limpiado jamás, se acumulan la suciedad, los insectos muertos y las telarañas. Aparte, están medio desvencijados y rotos. La iluminación insuficiente y mortecina. Luego siguió la ducha, inundada por un sumidero atascado. Las instalaciones en general están descuidadas y sin mantenimiento pero lo peor es que todo da mucho asco, eso sí, cobrado a un precio bien generoso: 500 € por 3 noches en agosto. No me sorprende para un hotel francés de 2 estrellas, pero tampoco me lo esperaba tan malo. Es incomprensible que tenga más de 4 estrellas, ¿es la gente tan tan "espesa" y poco exigente? Ah, se me olvidaba, en nuestra habitación no llego en ningún momento de la estancia el WiFi. Hazme caso y ni se te ocurra arruinar en este antro tus vacaciones.

Très belles surprises lors de notre arrivée
Chambre Très spacieuse avec vue sur mer. Personnel au petit soin pour vous et très souriant ce qui est très rare de nos jours. Si vous voulez passer un bon séjour, je vous le recommande.

Nous y sommes allés avec un nourrisson et avons été très bien accueillis : service irréprochable, petit déjeuner très copieux, chambre immense, cosy et très propre. De plus, la vue était vraiment sympa. C'est une vieille demeure typiquement basque dont les propriétaires ont su préserver le charme : hauteurs sous plafond, poutres et grand escalier en bois, cheminées, fenêtres immenses. Je recommande cet endroit!
