The Basque Corniche is made of high cliffs of flysh
With the erosion of this part of the coastline, between Hendaye and Ciboure, the path along the Corniche is currently closed to pedestrian access. A unique natural site, the Corniche Basque is about ten kilometers long and is made up of high flysch cliffs. Its panoramic view makes it one of the emblematic places of the whole Basque coast. Discover Socoa, its defensive fortress built in 1627 and redesigned by Vauban, which overlooks the bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and the typical village of Ciboure with its active port and its many restaurants.
