NOVACEL OPHTALMIQUE

Novacel, created 22 years ago, is a supplier of optical glasses, contact lenses and instruments for the optician. The last glass to manufacture 100% of its RX glasses in France, Novacel is now the third glass player in France. He obtained the Origin France Guarantee for his manufacturing activity of the ophthalmic prescription glasses.

History. Novacel was founded in 1994 by Roger Düning in Château-Thierry (02). At that time, she was involved in the sale and overlay of ophthalmic glasses and the sale of small equipment dedicated to opticians. In 2001, Novacel developed its Instruments department specialized in the distribution of equipment, and became the leader in the optometry market.

In 2007, she inaugurated a new surfactant laboratory in Château-Thierry, and has become one of the most modern laboratories in Europe. In addition, the Essilor group entered 75% of its capital.

It was in 2009 that the third business center Novacel appeared: the contactology, department of a multi-brand distribution platform, exclusive distribution of lenses and solutions of the Zeiss brand, of the own Novacel range: Binova (lentils and solutions) and today, prescription lenses activity.

The products. In addition to the Binova and Zeiss brand contact lenses, Novacel offers corrective glasses (progressive, unifocal, multifocal, solar hues…), as well as professional instruments (last generation, ophthalmological refraction instruments, small workshop equipment…). Each glass is custom-made and makes every effort to satisfy its customers and final carriers.

Employment. Constantly growing, Novacel now employs more than 500 people on its unique manufacturing site based in Château-Thierry, testifying to its attachment to the Origin France Guarantee.
