The Lancaster III bomber was targeted by German night hunters on 29 June 1944. The aircraft exploded with its edge, seven men belonging to the Royal Air Force. The resistance is hiding four of them. Three others don't survive the crash. Douglas Coole, Bob Chelu and John Austin are seated in the communal cemetery. A propeller deposited in front of their graves pays tribute to them.
