The small chapel of Saint-Vincent d'Irouléguy, a beautiful parish church, moving by its modesty
Beautiful in its modesty. Until the1st quarter of the 20th century, this small church, known as the Saint-Vincent d'Irouléguy chapel, was the village parish church. Threatening ruin, it was abandoned and almost destroyed when a new church was built in the heart of the village. From the remains still visible, it would appear that the church was built in the middle of the Middle Ages, most likely in the Romanesque period, as indicated by the use of ashlar and the semi-circular foundations of the chevet.
