Welcome to the hotel-restaurant Le Chêne, in Itxassou, Basque Country (64)
In Elizaldea Ostatua, shepherds used to meet after mass to drink chocolate and play mus.
The establishment takes its name from the hundred year old oak tree which was facing it, and which sheltered a suspended terrace, where people took the time to discuss while watching the pelota matches.
In 1950, the original oak tree disappeared but the establishment remained an emblematic place.
Today, Le Chêne is a family house where the tradition of hospitality and conviviality is perpetuated and where local products are highlighted with passion and inventiveness.
Our15-roomhotelis the ideal stopover for exploring the surrounding countryside; the rooms are comfortable, bright and decorated with Basque fabrics.
