THE HOUSE OF TEXTILES
This museum is located in a former textile company, an industrial sector that flourished in the region at the end of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century. Visitors can discover 28 Jacquard looms and many examples of what they have produced. Weaving and embroidery techniques are presented in detail and animation and demonstration centres provide an opportunity to practice some of the sector's trades. The reconstruction of a weaver's house finally gives an idea of what the daily life of the many workers of the 1930s who worked from home on their looms could be like. A family visit, with an activity booklet distributed to the children.
