NOTRE DAME BASILICA
The Basilica of Our Lady and its presbytery, both listed, were visited from the 12th century by almost the entire Christian community, including those of royal blood, thanks to the prestige of the legend of the Three Knights. There are no visible traces of the original building. The current building was rebuilt from 1370 and completed in 1480. A place of royal pilgrimage during the Middle Ages until the Revolution, the sanctuary received many sumptuous gifts, which made it possible, among other things, to build the marble and finely worked stone rood pole and the altarpiece of the main altar, ex-voto of Mary de Medici. Note: two 17th century paintings: one representing "La Pentecôte", offered by the Paris boatmen's association, the other representing a Nativity, with two donors, painted by Claude Vignon. The pilgrimage, which is still active today, enabled the 20th century to provide the building with a set of historically significant stained glass windows, designed by Jacques Despierres.
