THE POST HOUSE
The façade, listed in the Historical Monuments Inventory in 1933, attests to the unique character of the monument. The site entered the popular legend during the flight and the arrest of King Louis XVI, while his brother (Louis XVIII), who was travelling under a false name, was found there. A large number of emigrants crossed Marle to reach Belgium in the th century. The princess of Lamballe took horses there before she left at night. Later, the emperor Napoleon, accompanied by Marshal Ney, stopped it in order to allow horses to blow.
