FORTIFIED CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION
The oldest parts of the church of Plumion go back to the xiith century. The entire building was almost completely reconstructed and fortified in the sixteenth century, a time of incessant armed conflict with the Netherlands. The main defense element consists of a square plane, high of 15 m, located front of the nef. Peppers on the foothills protect the arms of transept, a turret and murderers ensure the church's side supervision. The brick fort containing three large superposed rooms is reinforced in its western part of two corners of angles. The one located in the northwest contains a screw staircase serving the floors, the one in the southwest consists of four layers of defense that are pierced by many murderers.
