This church built in Lasseube at the end of the 16th century, is remarkable for its architecture
Built in Lasseube at the end of the 16th century, the church of Saint Catherine is remarkable for its architecture: its gable roof, its two pointed porches and its Gothic portal with the engraved inscription Au nouste nabet Henric beteiat lou prume of May 1821. Inside, note a superb tabernacle and its 18th-century carved and gilded wooden altarpiece, a 17th-century statue of St. James, a carved wooden 18th-century Virgin and Child and a carved Eucharistic cabinet, restored in 1971 - items that were classified in 1975. In front of the building, you will notice the fountain in bas-relief, the work of the Palois sculptor Ernest Gabard. An invitation to stop in this small village which conceals assets, the vineyard of course, the Arboretum of Payssas and of course this small church!
