COUNTRY ARBORETUM
A 35-hectare park planted with nearly 130 rare and exotic species, offering visitors a true scientific heritage.
Just a stone's throw from the famous Jurançon vineyards, a trip among the trees awaits you. An arboretum of 500 trees from all over the world, representing 130 rare and rather exotic species (Japanese cryptomeria, spruce, Austrian black pine, Himalayan and Atlas cedars) planted by Jean Bourdet as early as 1930. The arboretum was imagined by his children in Lasseube, and was created by the Conseil Général des Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Today it is a green temple of 35 hectares. This wild afforestation offers the visitor a proven scientific heritage and a remarkable natural site. Along a 1.2 kilometer route, panels explain in simple terms and with the help of photos and anecdotes the family of the tree and its origin, some of them being prestigious, such as this unique forest of 200 cedars from Lebanon, unique in the world. A world forest in the heart of Béarn, amazing!
