THE DUNGEON AND THE VIC'S CASTLE
Enjoy the majestic facade of the castle of this castle, a former residence of the abbots of Saint-Médard, framed by two mass towers and surmounted by a th century pediment awarded to Visseaux. It opens onto a large terrace overlooking the charming French garden attributed to Le Nôtre. Its lounges would have welcomed guests of quality: Mazarin and the Cardinal of Bernis wrote his memoirs, or the Viscount de Reiset who was the benefactor. A large driveway bordered by yew leads to a colonnade also signed by Visseaux. The castle's dungeon dates back to the th century, while the residential part is after five centuries. 25 meters high, it is built on the basis of a rectangle, three angles of which are we of towers. The walls have a thickness of 2 metres at the base. On a special day in July or August, the site has a special atmosphere: Galantes festivals envelop the castle of music, dance and light for a poetic appointment.
