A historic monument in Alsace, with 37 burial mounds, it is one of the last remaining traces of Celtic occupation of the region.
With its 37 burial mounds, Mussig is one of Alsace's largest necropolises. Listed as Historical Monuments since 1987, they are among the very last traces of Celtic occupation of the region during the First Iron Age (750 to 450 BC). The largest are on the water's edge: from 30 centimetres to 1.80 metres high and 10 to 30 metres in diameter. Take a stroll and try to spot them - not all are easy to see. With children, it's a walk and a discovery that will help them develop their imagination and learn.
