TOWN HALL
In the Middle Ages, the common house had different locations around Place Jeanne-Hachette but it quickly became too small. In 1753, a Town Hall was therefore built in size worthy of the fame of the tapestries of Beauvais, on the plans of Bayeux, architect of the king. Today, only the imposing façade has escaped the bombing of June 1940. It is chanted of ionic pilasters and surmounted by a terrace with balustrades. On the central gable are represented the coat of arms of the city. Do not miss out on the first floor the permanent exhibition of tapestries including a reproduction of Ciel de Matisse.
