A site built for the indigent in the th century under the impetus of the bishop of Beauvais Nicolas Choart de Buzanval. This set of 8 000 m ² buildings was organized around three courses reserved for men, women, and bakery or lower court. From 300 to 500 needy people were in charge of this, which made it one of the most important in France after that of Lyon. Under the French Revolution, Buzanval became a hospice dependent on the hospital, which will remain in office until 1986. The old chapel has become the Rostropovitch Auditorium, and the hotel has an exhibition area with the galleries Boris-Vian, François-Mitterrand and the lower hall of the Rostropovitch auditorium. The François Mitterrand Cultural Centre (often referred to as Buzanval) is home to the Cultural Affairs Branch, the Beauvaisis Art School, the Exim-du-Caurroy Conservatory and the town centre that has just been renovated. The site deserves a visit to appreciate the integration of the new buildings into this high historic place loaded with history.
