Oise Prefecture has occupied this building since 1823. But before, it has experienced many vicissitudes! It was, in fact, the Saint-Quentin Abbey founded in 1067 by the bishop of Beauvais, who received large income thanks to the mills surrounding him. But this abbey was destroyed by a th century fire resulting in the rebuilding of buildings. She was like many others sold as a National Bien to the French Revolution and became a painting of painted canvas before welcoming the Prefecture.
