MÉMORIAL
A moving memorial to the silent tragedies suffered by civilians in the Oise region during the Great War.
This memorial pays tribute to all the civilian victims of the Oise: those who were shot, bombed, deported, sick or starved during the Great War. Chiry-Ourscamp paid a heavy price by losing half its inhabitants. In 1911, the commune had 1,560 inhabitants and only 782 in 1921. Two walls have been erected: a wall with this quote from André Malraux: "The tomb of the heroes is the heart of the living", and a wall designed to house the various plaques of the communes wishing to join in this work of remembrance.
