With Vitesse, the Château de Compiègne traces the history and evolution of this concept over time. The exhibition takes the public on a journey back to the time when horses pulled carriages, with some beautiful machines on display alongside works of art including paintings, photos and other sculptures. Then comes the time to admire the cars, a moment that should fascinate fans of old models with a Maserati 250F, a Lotus 33 and a Renault Type C from 1900. Speed is not only proposed to cars, the exhibition also unveils bicycles and motorcycles, including one that is considered the first motorcycle in the world! The purpose of this exhibition, not to be missed inOise, is to trace the evolution of the concept of speed and the subtle link it has with that of modernity.
