MUSEUM OF HISTORICAL FIGURES
A museum that allows you to immerse yourself in history, from the ancient world to contemporary times.
History lovers, the simply curious, amused children... We find very different profiles in this internationally renowned museum with its 155,000 characters! One quickly gets caught up in the game with this plunge into History, from the ancient world to contemporary times. At the entrance, a scene illustrates the Trojan Horse episode. City of the Armistice, we invite you to see episodes of the First World War. But the most highly valued period is undoubtedly the First Empire. There's a huge stage in Waterloo (with no less than 12,000 figurines!) or beautiful showcases depicting the Russian countryside. You can spend hours in this museum, having fun why not determining your favourite character. Our winner: a piper from the 71st Highlander, it's up to you to find him! However, it is unfortunate that this collection, unique in Europe, only benefits from an ageing museography that is not very suitable for children. However, the museum is trying to innovate a little by offering games, such as the insertion of intruders to be found among the figurines in a display case. The planned move (announced for 2021) to the former staff school should breathe new life into the museum and enhance the 100,000 figurines in the reserves.
