MAISON DE LA FAÏENCE
A museum that traces the history of the city with the presentation of the Gallo-Roman treasure of the Creil lock.
This visit bears witness to the history of the town, with 1,000 pieces of fine Creil earthenware (opaque porcelain, black stoneware, fine earthenware, printed and painted decorations, etc.), of which only one third is on display. The reputation of the Creil faience factory is such that it was mentioned in Gustave Flaubert's L'Education sentimentale. The museum also has areas that retrace the history of the town with the presentation of the Gallo-Roman treasure of the Creil lock and photographs that showcase the town's working-class and industrial heritage. A unique know-how!
