The municipality, nestled in the Creux valley, extends to the banks of the River Aisne. Its history dates back to the time of the Romans, as shown by the current Saint-Eloi Street, which was a Roman route. The Mérovingiens kings had a hunting house in the village, annex of the Royal house of Cuise, which was to Saint-Jean-aux-Bois. Surrounded by woods and forests, the village is picturesque. At the beginning of the town hall, take the left lane to the Ru of Vandy where you see the castle of Cuise (private property, not visit) and in the background the elegant Saint Martin Church, a typical construction of the Soissonais in the late th and early th century. It has a powerful clocher and a slender nave. She was listed in Historic Monuments in 1913. Read: the existence of pedestrian circuits from the village and the impressive number of wells: more than are still in good condition.
