Communal gîtes in the village with comfortable apartments in a pastoral setting in Lourdios-Ichère.
L'Estivade is a charming complex of accommodation, including five communal gîtes in the village. Managed by the Estivade d'Aspe-Pyrénées association, the association's mission is to help people in difficulty find work, and to participate in local development. Here in Lourdios-Ichère, a fine example of this is the wide range of self-catering cottages available for rental, either individually or in groups. On the Estivade site, next to the Gave d'Aspe river in the heart of the mountains, you'll find a very old house, typical of the valley, whose character has been preserved, with its fireplace and wooden staircases: this is the famous Maison Pelou with its 12 beds. La Grange, a former sheepfold, sleeps 17, and the adjoining Studios des Copeaux can accommodate up to 5 people. Further down in the village, the communal gîtes offer 15 places, one for two, one for four and the others for three. These comfortable apartments are set in pastoral surroundings at an altitude of 500 meters, and are a great low-cost way to spend a holiday in the magnificent Pyrenees.
