SCHOOL MUSEUM
Museum in the former Pasteur school of Villeneuve-d'Ascq, a telecine dating from 1952 on site.
Located in the old Pasteur school (built in 1883 and closed in 1979), it was the last headmaster of this school, Mr. Notardonato, who turned it into a museum. Here visitors become schoolchildren and meet a teacher who will give them lessons (morals, spelling, arithmetic, history...) but also a whole bunch of tasty anecdotes about daily life at the time. All this in a 1930s-1960s setting: blackboard, platform, teacher's desk, benches, porcelain inkwells, pen-holders... but also a telecine dating from 1952!
