CHÂTEAU DE LA TOUR * * *
"Who goes in likes it." This announcement on the entrance panel is not presumptuous. In the heart of 5 hectares of parkland, this elegant Anglo-Norman-style residence is nestled in a peaceful setting. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century by Parisian bankers wishing to take advantage of the charm of this green island near the capital (35 km away). Requisitioned during the Second World War, the property was then transformed into a hotel-restaurant in 1946. The Château de la Tour then became one of the privileged meeting places of the "all-Paris", with celebrities such as Edith Piaf, Tino Rossi or Jean Gabin. The reception capacity is currently 47 rooms, with reception rooms, seminar rooms, an English bar, a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the park, a swimming pool heated from April to October, a tennis court, billiards, a fitness trail, and two massage parlours. With such charm and such performances, it is hard to contradict the slogan at the entrance! The restaurant is not to be outdone, with an excellent reputation of the chef Cédric Boissart. Hired for a week in 1995 as an extra, he was immediately seduced by the soul of the castle and has just celebrated his 25th anniversary!
