THE SERGER'S HOUSE
Until the th century, textiles provided an additional income - in addition to agriculture - to many households in the Beauvaisis countryside. This is the case of the town of Hardivillers which once made Serge, a light cloth of wool. The Maison du Serger has retained its original structure, with its workshop overlooking the street and its house of habitation and its garden located on the back, as well as its old weathered. Its history covers the artisanal evolution of the village. See in this museum: a loom and a boutonnier workshop since the tabletterie replaced the textile in the local economy. The restoration work lasted 7 years and registered as part of the cultural project of the Textile Route in Picardy.
