CHURCH OF SAINTE-MAXENCE
Church that constitutes a very interesting example of architectural transition, in this case between the Gothic and the Renaissance.
The building, although dating back to the Middle Ages, was built in the 16th century. It is a perfect example of architectural transition, in this case between the Gothic and the Renaissance. If its plan follows the "classical" principles of the Gothic: a choir surrounded by an ambulatory and radiating chapels, the basins of the chapels surmounted by scallops in the choir illustrate, on the other hand, the imprint of the Renaissance. In the same way, the bell tower, on a gothic structure, has a decoration essentially of Renaissance inspiration.
