ELECTROLUX
Electrolux is a Swedish company, world leader in household appliances. Part of its production is made in France, hence the label Origine France Garantie.
History. It all began in 1901 with the creation of AB Lux. In 1912, it merged with Electromagnetiska AB and became AB Electrolux, a pioneer in vacuum cleaners and refrigerators. It was at this time that Axel Wenner-Gren joined the company and launched his first LUX 1 vacuum cleaner in 1912. He was inspired by the Santo machine he had seen during a professional trip to Vienna. LUX 1 weighs 14 kg and costs 300 Swedish kroner at the time, the equivalent of 12,000 current Swedish kroner (€1,350).
Wenner-Gren also initiated another fundamental principle: the introduction of door-to-door sales.
AB Electrolux quickly became an international company (London, Stockholm) and changed its name in 1957 to Electrolux. In 1984, it acquired the Italian company Zanussi, Europe's leading manufacturer of household appliances; Electrolux became the world leader in household appliances for both individuals and professionals. Two years later, it acquired the American number 3, White Consolidated, and its Frigidaire, Kelvinator and Westinghouse brands. Then it was the turn of the German AEG with Daimler-Benz, and the Australian Email, the Egyptian Olympic Group and the Chilean CTI.
