SAINT VINCENT ABBEY
Royal abbey with a high bell tower, a site full of history located next to an old sports field in Senlis.
Upon arriving on site, the image is astonishing: a royal abbey with a high bell tower next to an old sports field... The explanation is simple: the students of the private high school Saint-Vincent occupy the site of an abbey whose first construction dates back to 1066! The abbey was built by decision of Anne of Kiev, wife of Henry I. The building was remodeled in the 13th and 17th centuries. After 1789, the abbey became public property. In 1836, the bishop of Beauvais bought Saint-Vincent and transformed it into a boarding school for boys.
