SPA MUSEUM
A small museum at the entrance to the Château Royal pays tribute to the soldiers of Morocco (1928-1939) and Algeria (1948-1962).
It is a small museum at the entrance of the Royal Castle. Why this tribute to these African cavalry soldiers in this bourgeois and not very cosmopolitan town? In fact, Senlis hosted two regiments: Moroccans from 1928 to 1939, then Algerians from 1948 to 1962. Their passage is remembered and some families even stayed in the area. At the beginning of the Second World War, they were the only ones to remain undefeated, before surrendering their weapons on government orders. This museum therefore wanted to pay tribute to these defenders of France.
