CASTERASSES
The medieval site of Les Casterasses, a spectacular feudal motte offering panoramic views over the Béarn region.
Among the oldest remains, the Casterasses site can be found on the heights of the town. It is a very well preserved feudal mound. There are clearly visible ditches and earth parapets at the head of the mound. From the Viscount's castle built later on this same site and destroyed in 1570 by Jeanne d'Albret's troops, there is nothing left. This mound is one of the most spectacular medieval sites in the department. Its strategic position in height allows you to enjoy a beautiful panorama over the village but also over a large part of the Pyrenees. A place not to be missed in Béarn!
