Taken in hand by new owners in April 2022, the Étoile du Jour has regained its lustre and is once again shining in the firmament of fine Samarian dining! With fresh produce and quality cuisine, you know what you're getting: a good meal. On the menu, and depending on your tastes: fine salads, fish (trout, fillet or tartar), poultry supreme with rollot sauce, entrecote steak or a mouth-watering veal steak with morel cream. Disappointing. Fish dish recommended by waiter and veal steak with pasta ordered. Food on table in 5 minutes. Accompaniments warm and obviously not freshly prepared. Flavours bland. We left after one course. Explained to waiter but no apology or even ‘sorry you didn’t enjoy it’. Meal not cheap either. It was clear however from other tables that we seemed to be the exception as other diners seemed happy.

Just had a great dinner here. Welcomed as ‘walk-ins’; front-of-house-staff had helpful restaurant-English. The food (three courses) was excellent. The beers and wine delicious and good value. Thanks very much to our waiter for a great dinner. We will come back.

Déçu du début à la fin , il n’y avait pratiquement aucun plat que nous voulions, pas de pain pour l’entrée qui n’était pas terrible , les plats .. 1 pas cuit et l’autre froid ! Même une fois réchauffé les pâtes était infecte huileuse et fade .. reparti avant le dessert et la patronne qui vous voyant arriver à la caisse s’en va de l’autre cotée du restaurant même pas un désolé , ni un au revoir ! Dans ce cas, autant aller manger un McDonald’s…
