FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DU FILM
With almost 400 films, the Amiens festival welcomes over 65,000 spectators and some 450 professionals from all over the world.
The first edition was born out of the observation made by a group of friends that certain films did not have access to traditional theatres. In 40 years, the festival has become a privileged place for all minority cinemas. Screenings take place as usual at the Maison de la Culture, the Ciné Saint-Leu, the Gaumont cinema, the Louis Aragon library and the Jacques Tati Cultural Centre. Short and feature films are selected each year around a theme. But the Amiens International Film Festival also features documentaries, films for the whole family, previews, exhibitions and meetings that follow one another. For ten days, two competitions are organised. The best film in each category is awarded the Golden Unicorn, the symbol of this festival. With nearly 400 films, the festival welcomes more than 65,000 spectators and more than 450 professionals from all over the world.
