Created in 1966 by Doctor Marcel Lascar, SOS Médecins, with its 63 associations on the territory, seeks to respond to the constant needs of patients. At the time, the SAMU does not exist and it is a real revolution in the sanitary field. Each association is open all year round and 24 hours a day to respond to every emergency. They all allow to relieve the cabinets by managing unscheduled cases. Doctors travel to patients' homes and thus help to relieve congestion in emergency rooms. Every year, SOS Médecins carries out nearly 2.5 million interventions. An indispensable and reassuring service for all citizens.
