IPAG opens its doors to students wishing to prepare for the A and B category civil service entrance examinations, or to civil servants wishing to progress in their careers. Preparatory courses can be taken as part of an initial or continuing education program, starting at Bac+3 level. It offers a generalist approach with "classic" courses, supplemented by methodology and test-taking practice sessions. Since 2021, it has been possible to join a Talents du Service Public preparatory class in partnership with the Lille IRA.
