AMIENS METROPOLE ZOO
An exotic and exciting space just a few steps from downtown offering an opportunity to appreciate the diversity of animals.
There are no less than 500 animals that you can discover on the 7 hectares of the zoo: monkeys, red pandas, pink flamingos, zebras. The park is also very active in the protection of the environment and biodiversity, hosting no less than 30 species considered endangered in their natural environment. Second tourist destination of the department of the Somme, after the cathedral of Amiens, the zoo is an exceptional parenthesis located not far from the city center and in the heart of the park of the Hotoie. Work, completed in 2021, has allowed the reopening of the famous Pavillon Bleu, a restaurant that will offer different formulas throughout the day, with a buffet at noon, a tea room in the afternoon and even bistronomy in the evening! Note that it will be accessible to visitors of the zoo but also to those from outside. The summer of 2021 has also seen the appearance of a second fast food outlet, the Carbet. Also concerning discoveries, an "Archipelagos" zone, accompanied by a new vivarium, has opened to the public, with notably the presence of a Chinese alligator, accompanied by snakes, amphibians and freshwater fish. A much awaited novelty, located just in front of the adorable otters' space! There is no doubt that the Amiens zoo will be, once again, a major attraction for the Somme and a great moment of happiness guaranteed for all visitors. Definitely a must-see during your trip!
