SAINT-ANDRÉ CHURCH
Less known and impressive than Sainte-Foy, Saint-André is part of the religious heritage of Morlaàs. Romanesque church, it was built at the end of the th century and appears very early in the writings of the city as a parish church. In 1569, she suffered, like other buildings of this nature in the region, fires caused by Protestants. But it was not destroyed (unlike Notre-Dame-de-Berlanne, whose stones were reused for the construction of houses in the city) but rearranged to welcome the new cult. By the intervention of Henri IV, Catholicism was restored in 1620. The huguenots restituèrent Saint-André and asked in exchange for a plot to install a temple (it still exists, located rue Bourg-Mayou). Work is being undertaken on the Romanesque church in the th century to shape the building still visible today. Inside, you can admire rich liturgical furniture.
