ST. LAWRENCE CHURCH
The Saint-Laurent church with a large square tower and a bell tower, with objects classified as historical monuments
The Saint-Laurent church was built mainly in the 13th century on a feudal mound. Its architecture has undergone many changes, including the fortification of the church under Gaston Fébus, undertaken at the same time as that of the village and the construction of the castle in the 14th century. The large square tower housing the bell tower of the church is the oldest part of the building. The double door facing the Carrère du Château was only built in the 18th century. Recent renovations have highlighted the richness of the paintings on the walls and columns of the chapels and the choir as well as the addition of new stained glass windows made by the craftsman Matthieu Gasc.
