The Ault lighthouse is one of the most imposing in France, standing 28 metres above the ground.

The Ault lighthouse is one of the most imposing in France, standing 28 metres above the ground and 110 metres above the sea, if you include the height of the cliff on which it stands. It was rebuilt and put into service in 1951, after being blown up in 1940. Interesting detail: the lighthouse is now automated and controlled from Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. Although it is not possible to visit the lighthouse, for obvious safety reasons, you are welcome to take a stroll around the site, which offers a magnificent view of the coastline and cliffs!

C'est surement à cet endroit que vous verrez les falaises au plus près, mais attention vous ne pourrez vous balader en dessous, c'est interdit du fait de la chute à tout moment de morceaux de falaise (érosion). L'environnement est aussi à la randonnée sur le chemin littoral qui longe le sommet des falaises sur des kilomètres avec des points belvédères et panoramiques parsemés sur votre cheminement pédestre. très belle vue de ce phare sur la ville en contrebas et les falaises!

Situé sur le terrain militaire du sémaphore, le phare d'Ault, aussi appelé phare d'Onival, est entièrement automatisé depuis Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. Il domine la ville et offre une superbe vue sur la côte. D'un point de vue technique, c'est une merveille. D'un point de vue architectural, rien d'exceptionnel.
