A few kilometres from Bayonne, the commune of Mouguerre has a rich heritage, the legacy of a busy past. A one-hour self-guided or audio-guided tour has been set up by the town hall to bring the town's historic monuments to life. The tour starts at the Château d'Aguerria, a former noble house and seat of the current town hall, before taking you to the Croix de Mouguerre, where witch hunts were held. The obelisk recalls the battles between French and English troops during the Napoleonic period. A walk, accessible to all, easy to do with family or friends.
