Center for creating scientific and technical mediation programs in the south of Aquitaine in Mourenx
The association Lacq Odyssée is the Centre for Scientific and Technical Culture and the Pays de l'Adour. Located on the Lacq site, it has been a link between big industry and the outside public for some thirty years. Its missions are: to create scientific and technical mediation programmes in the south of Aquitaine, to facilitate access to science for young people, to establish a dialogue between local actors and the scientific community, etc. It is within this framework that it offers exhibitions, conferences, animations and guided tours to all in order to understand the role of industry in rural areas. These performances enabled it to obtain the national "Science and Culture, Innovation" label, an award that was granted for the first time in 2008 to 26 centres for scientific, technical and industrial culture (CCSTI). Issued for a maximum of 4 years, it is a guarantee of quality for local structures. The highlights of the association's work are the Science Festival and the Eureka Days in particular, but not only.
