BERTANGLES CASTLE
This castle surrounded by an immense park of French gardens is one of the largest in northern France.
Classified as a historical monument, it is one of the largest in the north of France, surrounded by an immense park of formal gardens! The current owner, the Clermont-Tonnerre family, is only the third in direct line of descent in the last ten centuries to inherit this immense building. At the time of its construction, between 1730 and 1734, the castle had the ambition to promote the arts and to organize social events. It has witnessed the main historical events and was even the headquarters of the British army during the Battle of the Somme in 1916.
