CAVE SWAMPS
Natural site with a great ecological and landscape interest with the marsh of the Castle and the larris of Hangest-sur-Somme.
In the valley of the Somme, a great bowl of nature in the heart of 17 hectares of marshes, reeds, willows and water lilies. A 3 km path has been laid out which evokes Hector Malot, who was inspired by these marshes to write En famille. Overlooked by the larris of Hangest-sur-Somme, the Cavins marsh, with the neighboring Chateau marsh, is the largest group of marshes and peat ponds in the Somme valley, considered unique in Europe. It constitutes a biological corridor allowing typical and threatened species to move without risk from one site to another.
