LA MEDIATHEQUE DES GAVES
The media library is the cultural place that has become a must for Oloronians and visitors alike. This success is linked to the architecture of this new establishment, with collections as varied as they are rich, but also to its exceptional site, which makes for a fabulous walk. Located at the tip of a peninsula, it is surrounded by the Ossau and Aspe gaves and it is here that they mingle to form one. A show that you will have all the leisure to admire from the lounges of the media library, well installed on ottomans facing the bay window. The venue is innovative with its huge hall, its impressive 2,400 m² surface area, its 90,000 documents where books take centre stage with no less than 35,000 works devoted to young people, 9,000 DVDs and 3,000 CDs (the collection can be consulted on the Internet). Numerous work spaces, a multimedia room with a dozen or so computer workstations and computer initiations complete the spaces where monthly events are offered on various themes, such as meetings with authors, exhibitions and film screenings. A real meeting place!
