CHURCH OF OUR LADY
Building the Notre-Dame church was not an easy task and the first stone was only laid in 1869. Built with Louvie stones in a Romanesque-Byzantine style by the architect of the imperial palaces, Joseph-Auguste Laffollye, it is exclusively decorated inside with furniture and the decor dates back to the 19th century, except a gilded wood altar that dates back to the 17century. The organ of Vincent Cavaille-Coll is listed as a Historical Monument and the frescoes and paintings decorating the chancel and the transept were made by a renowned Roman artist, Paul Delance, a student of Gérôme. A beautiful 19th century heritage, the Notre-Dame church joined the list of Historical Monuments.
