SAINT-PIERRE ABBEY
Abbey with a south tower of 200 steps and 55 m high offering a magnificent panorama on the whole valley of the Somme.
It is the only vestige of the abbey of Corbie founded in the 7th century, and amputated of two thirds of its length at the Revolution. On this site, three different monuments were indeed raised. From 657 to 661, Queen Bathilde founded the abbey; from 1052 to 1073, the monument was reworked after a fire, before being demolished again at the end of the 15th century. At a height of 55 m, you will enjoy a magnificent panorama on the whole valley of the Somme. You can see the church Notre-Dame de la Neuville of Renaissance style with its serrated tympanum. Sublime!
