THE DUNE OF AUTHENTICITY
This bay looks like the Bay of Somme. The Authie quickly reached the sea after wandered and serpenté for 80 km. So much sand, the same mollières (hut hunting area that is convenient at night) to the typical vegetation, the site is smaller but has nothing to envy the bay of Somme except its pebble cords. A trail of discovery and initiation is set to this effect near Fort-Mahon in order to raise awareness among pedestrians. Dunes and breakdowns are natural but fragile environments. The cycle of educational signs begins with a lande of thorny shrubs, troènes and willows.
Depending on the seasons, the colours of the vegetation vary, making the birds feast. Near a cottage, on the nearby pond surrounded by vegetation characteristic of the places, an observatory allows to see when you are lucky a migratory bird making a stop between the Nordic countries and Africa. Frequent débroussaillements maintain breakdowns in their wet state, favouring reproduction among others of the calamite toad.
From the bay, after a-minute walk through the Fishermen's Trail, you can also reach the beach where you can discover the dunes under formation of the "poulier de l'Authie".
