Pau-based artist Carole Lévy Kerebel creates Japanese-inspired ceramic statuettes called kokeshi. Inspired by Japanese art, she handcrafts each piece in her Béarn workshop. Using the terra sigillata technique, Carole produces a clay coating that she applies in thin layers, then fires and smokes. A process that reveals unique motifs. Each kokeshi, dressed in an engraved kimono, is a delicate tribute to Japanese traditions and the art of ceramics, combining slowness and care in a slow-made spirit.
