STADE DU HAMEAU
The Hameau stadium, also called Colonel-de-Fornel stadium, is the main stadium in Pau. Built in 1948 and renovated in 1988, it has been the headquarters since 1990 of the Palau Section, the famous Béarnais rugby club and the Pau Football Club, which play their home matches there. Renovated in 2017, the new enclosure is more aesthetic than the previous one and above all has become a real place to live and work. The Hamlet Stadium now has 18,000 seats with a completely redesigned north stand, raised stand, dressing rooms, etc. A beautiful evolution for a historic site that was originally intended for the National School of Military Physical Training! In addition to the matches of the National Football Championship or the Top 14 in rugby (since the promotion of the Section), important matches are organised on this field, such as the last match of the 2014 Women's VI Nations Tournament during which the French team won against Ireland, making it possible to achieve the grand slam.
